If you are new here and want to read in chronological order from the beginning, you can start with the First Post, and then click the "Newer Post" button at the bottom of each post until you catch up.  The bottom of the blog has an archive, but it only shows 3 posts at a time, so it's a little hard to scroll.

01 December 2025

Stay tuned!!

Well, we are down to our final week in Ireland before briefly transitioning to Egypt to visit family.

And it is the week of Sam’s 50th birthday.  She really wanted to see the Titanic exhibit and Giant’s Causeway.

And this past weekend was Thanksgiving break (which is not celebrated here for obvious reasons).

And the person I am researching with was unavailable the second half of last week.

So we decided it was time for one final road trip to see the last part of the island we hadn’t visited yet: the north (which includes the country of Northern Ireland, but also the northwestern region of the country of Ireland).

Day 1, Thanksgiving: Belfast/Titanic (NI)

Day 2: Giant’s Causeway (NI)

Day 3: Derry/Londonderry (NI) and Slieve League

Day 4: Galway

We will try to write these up in the next couple days, but there is a lot going on right now with wrapping up this phase of research, catching up on school, packing up, laundry, clearing out the kitchen, etc!

Just a preview:

Sun fading.  Ocean angry.  The hexagonal columns of Giant's Causeway.
